How the Jack Bracket Works

The Jack Bracket Kit adds a receiver beside each wheel and a matching bracket on your factory jack, so when a tire goes flat you can move that same jack to the wheel and lift the trailer with the jack held firmly upright.

What Comes in the Kit

  • Axle receiver brackets (2)

One mounts beside each wheel, which gives the jack a secure place to sit on whichever side of the trailer has the flat tire.

  • Tongue receiver bracket (1)

The jack rides in this receiver at the tongue for towing, hitching, and unhitching, just as it does now.

  • Male jack bracket (1)

This bracket bolts to your factory jack and is the piece that slides into each receiver.

  • Mounting hardware

The kit includes four 1 1/2 by 3/8 inch bolts, four 3 by 3/8 inch bolts, eight serrated flanged 3/8 inch nuts, and four 3/8 inch flat washers.

A jack is not included. The Jack Bracket works with the factory jack already on your trailer.

Changing a Flat Tire With the Jack Bracket

  1. A pickup pulling a boat trailer stopped on a gravel lot with the owner walking back to the trailer
    01

    Pull off on firm ground

Move the truck and trailer onto the flattest, firmest surface available, and set the parking brake before you begin.

  2. A factory trailer jack seated in the Jack Bracket axle receiver beside the rear wheel
    02

Move the jack to the flat side

With the trailer still hitched, take the jack out of the tongue receiver and set it into the axle receiver beside the flat tire. The receiver holds the jack upright and keeps it from shifting as the weight of the trailer settles.

  3. A trailer wheel lifted clear of the gravel with the jack held in the Jack Bracket beside it
    03

Lift the trailer and change the tire

Crank the jack until the flat tire clears the ground, then remove the wheel and mount the spare. Because the jack is locked in the receiver, it cannot tip or shift while the trailer is raised, which is the danger of setting a loose jack under the frame on gravel or uneven ground.

  4. The Jack Bracket holding a loaded boat trailer up while the owner works at the wheel
    04

Lower the trailer and return the jack

Lower the trailer onto the spare, tighten the lug nuts, and return the jack to the tongue receiver for the rest of the trip.

Installing the Kit

The receivers bolt to the trailer with the hardware included in the kit, and the male bracket bolts to your jack.

Trailer frames vary in size and layout. If you would like to confirm how the receivers will mount on your trailer before ordering, tell us what you tow and we will walk you through the fit.
